You may have sometimes heard terms like “executive presence” and “gravitas,” which we associate with people who command attention through their verbal and non-verbal communication in a room filled with professionals.
In the West, the importance of acting as a leader is also stressed, even if, as a student, you are just starting your career or are simply working an unpaid intern in a temporary role.
But sometimes, it’s hard to know how or where to start acquiring such skills. It’s great to build awareness of these topic,s to learn about the impact they make through your communication and behavior, even early in your university education and/or career. This quick read is a good place to begin.
