 Job Opportunity – Mandarin-speaking Account Executives (Sales) – UK

Mandarin Consulting Limited is a career coaching and consultancy firm with 3 offices in the UK offering services to Chinese clients in both the UK and China. With offices also in the US and China, the company is now looking for candidates to join the fast-growing business as an Account Manager (Sales) working under our Edinburgh office.

Successful candidates will be based in the company’s Sales and Marketing department, a collaborative, client facing team in the heart of the business, directly contributing to the company’s rapid expansion. With the majority of the company’s target clients being native Chinese speaking fresh graduates from leading UK universities, we would love to hear from bilingual talents who also have in-depth understanding of our customers’ native culture and consumer mentality and who can easily relate to them in the course of the company’s daily marketing practices.

Details of general duties:

  • Generating leads through content marketing via various suitable platforms and channels;
  • Assisting in Career talks, and online and offline seminars;
  • Providing career consultations to students and parents;
  • Explaining how the MC coaching programme works;
  • Guidance on choosing a coach;
  • Discussing prices;
  • Carrying out induction for new clients;
  • Providing a first point of contact for after-sales customer service;
  • Reporting on customer feedback to the management;
  • Recording lead generation and sales on Salesforce;
  • Referring any complaints or issues to the customer service team.

Daily duties:

  • Developing suitable potential clients through consultations with University Campus-based Brand Ambassadors;
  • Strategically cultivating suitable potential clients on Chinese internet platforms and Chinese social networking sites;
  • Designing and circulating marketing messages to attract leads;
  • Arranging and attending consultative sales meetings with potential clients;
  • Attending follow up meetings with potential clients, discussing their needs and handling objections;
  • Holding meetings to conclude sales;
  • Briefing the programme management team about new clients’ requirements;
  • Organising and attending university seminars;
  • Attending networking functions;
  • Drafting proposals for marketing and promotional events;
  • Researching and updating information on our competitors.

Skills, attributes, experience and qualifications required for this post:

  • An undergraduate degree or above from a recognised university;
  • Excellent communication ability in both English and Mandarin;
  • Professional communication skills with an ability to present information clearly and with confidence;
  • Demonstrable strong previous leadership, teamwork and problem-solving experience;
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the company’s services with a results driven approach and ready to grow with the company;
  • Determined and willing to take on responsibilities;
  • Relevant experience in marketing and sales, especially in the service industry;

Description of the role:

  • Assist the Marketing Executive with day-to-day planning and execution of integrated campaigns
  • Research a range of topics from within the industry
  • Social media: help manage social media channels by identifying and creating shareable content
  • Draft blog posts, newsletters and other marketing materials
  • Big picture thinker: brainstorm and contribute creative ideas that can be used to raise awareness of Mandarin Consulting to new clients

Requirements of the role:

  • Excellent Chinese writing skills, along with clear and concise English communication skills
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Good communicator
  • Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate training and instructions quickly into daily tasks and assignments
  • Preferably with experience in social media management

What we offer:

Hourly Salary: £7.83/hr

Candidates who perform well in the role will have the opportunity for a full time trainee role with a sponsored work permit visa

MISSION OF THE ROLE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work under the supervision of one of our Account Managers to generate sales leads, organise and manage online student communities and support online and offline career talks and events
  • Carry out market intelligence research, prepare and distribute marketing content, and attend product and marketing training
  • Attend daily meetings and complete weekly reports in a timely fashion.
