Gisele Edwards - Coach
Gisele qualified as an Equity Investment Analyst after completing the IIMR (now the CFA) on a graduate training scheme with City of London asset management company Gartmore (now Henderson). In this role she researched and analysed stocks across multiple sectors including IT, manufacturing, consumer goods, utilities, energy, telecoms, construction and pharmaceuticals. Gisele made investment recommendations across Asia Pacific markets with special responsibility for Taiwan and China across 12 funds. Additionally, she assistant managed Gartmore’s Hong Kong Fund. Gisele subsequently worked for Prudential, M&G Investments, F&C Asset Management, AMR International, KPMG and IQ Research in commercial due diligence roles or as a writer and editor on investment strategy, where she compiled, wrote and edited institutional and retail client reports. These covered sterling, European and global credit, high yield fixed income bonds, US equities, property, social corporate responsibility funds and retail marketing brochures. She is an associate member of the Institute of Investment Management and Research and the European Federation of Financial Analysts.
Gisele graduated from Cambridge University with a BA Hons in Oriental Studies (Chinese), where she studied classical and contemporary Chinese literature and language, history, philosophy and contemporary politics. After completing a Postgraduate Diploma at SOAS, University of London she undertook a British Council scholarship to study at Nanjing Normal University.
Gisele is fluent in Mandarin and has professional experience in other fields; as a journalist (with the China Business Times in Nanjing and Reuters among others) and especially in the arts. She is an award-winning professional acrobat and physical performance artist with qualifications in experimental and aerial theatre. She has worked for 15 years in the arts sector alongside her corporate roles, developing a broad repertoire of creative work.
