Meet The Mentors Dinner 16th November 2015

Cost: £40 (HK Society members), £50 (non members) Price includes 2 course meal and drinks

Adinner for a maximum of 35 members with four experienced mentors, all involved in the banking, accounting and legal sectors, is being planned for the evening of Monday 16th November.

Two Bankers, an accountant and a lawyer will relate their experiences to those attending and share their views and perceptions. This dinner is suitable for all those thinking of embarking on careers in these industries; it will be an informal and useful exchange of information and discussion.

In the chair:

Mark Patterson retired from Standard Chartered Bank in 2013, having worked there since 2004. He has also worked in Hong Kong for 12 years as the CEO of Deutsche Morgan Grenfel. He is currently a Consultant in Financial Services and is also a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Society.

Carrie Waley is the founder and CEO of Mandarin Consulting, the leading career coaching consultancy for the Chinese with offices in the UK, US, China and Hong Kong. Since 2007, Mandarin Consulting has helped thousands of Chinese worldwide to embark and progress in their international careers. Also a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Society.

 

The Mentors:

 

Peter Alexander:

A qualified accountant who has spent the last 10 years advising clients on acquisitions, mergers, investments and disposals around the world. Based in London, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Indonesia. Now an Associate Director in KPMG Deal Advisory.

Huw Jenkins:

A solicitor with 24 years experience of Hong Kong and now a partner at Clifford Chance. He has extensive experience on infrastructure, gaming and power projects; financing of property, telecoms, aircraft, shipping and corporate acquisitions; export credit, multilateral and tax based financings and securities issues.

John Morewood:

Now the Head of Emerging Talent at HSBC, he has responsibility for formulating and implementing a joined up talent strategy for graduates and non-graduates. He has had a wide and impressive range of management roles in HSBC.

David Nabarro:

A widely experienced city practitioner with 40 plus years corporate finance and broking experience in UK and overseas. Authorised and regulated by FCA. Founded Hampden & Co, a new UK Private Bank. He also currently manages Mathengine PLC Investment Portfolio.
