Meet the Mentors Supper 1st November 2017

A dinner for a maximum of 34 members with four experienced mentors is being planned for the evening of Wednesday 1st November. This is the fifth in a series of the ‘Meet the Mentor’ Suppers, each one focussing on a specific sector.

The mentors will relate their experiences to those attending and share their views and perceptions. This supper is suitable for all those thinking of embarking on, or furthering, careers in these industries; it will be an informal and useful exchange of information and discussion.

In the chair:

Mark Patterson retired from Standard Chartered Bank in 2013, having worked there since 2004. He has also worked in Hong Kong for 12 years as the CEO of Deutsche Morgan Grenfel. He is currently a Consultant in Financial Services and is also a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Society.

Carrie Waley is the founder and CEO of Mandarin Consulting, the leading career coaching consultancy for the Chinese with offices in the UK, US, China and Hong Kong. Since 2007, Mandarin Consulting has helped thousands of Chinese worldwide to embark and progress in their international careers. Also a Committee Member of the Hong Kong Society.

 

The Mentors:

Tom Burns

Tom Burns has extensive experience of financial and corporate communications and is co-lead of Brunswick’s global Financial Institutions Group. He has advised a range of international companies on their communications in high profile and sensitive situations, including takeovers, capital raisings, IPOs, crises and litigation.

James Inglis

A Corporate Partner in Linklaters, James Inglis is a specialist in public and private M&A and equity capital transactions.

Suwin Lee

A Partner in EY transaction tax practice with over 19 years experience in coporate tax, including 1 year secondment to the New York office.

Mark Winterflood

Mark has worked principally in commercial banking, trade finance and strategy in the Middle East, Asia and Europe and has been Senior Manager, Global Commercial Banking in Hong Kong and also Country CEO for HSBC in Czech Republic. Currently the Global Head of Pricing and Corporate Collaboration in HSBC Global Private Banking.
