Cathay Association for International Business presents ’Entrepreneurship in the UK’, a seminar hosted byErnst & Young, on the 20th April 2016, 6.30pm.
With low corporate tax, well established legal framework, political stability, friendly business environment, English speaking, a gateway into Europe and a preferential visa situation amongst other advantages, the UK is considered to be a great place to run international businesses. The UK attracts businesses from all over the world, as well as being the destination to start a business.
Our panel consists of successful entrepreneurs who will be sharing their stories to inspire young Chinese men and women to consider becoming budding entrepreneurs in the UK. We also have professionals involved in the start-up industry, covering issues concerning starting your own company.
Our Speakers
John Zai: Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Cocoon Networks; Founder and Chairman, British Chinese Young Entrepreneurs Association; also established companies in international luxury goods trading, international organic food trading, real estate, and management consulting.
Pippa Watmough: Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Piggyback Property, a crowdfunding property investment platform; Formerly focused on private equity and property fund advice for family offices and high net worth individuals. Qualified as a solicitor at Linklaters, specialising in investment management. Also, a Founder member of the Guild of Entrepreneurs.
Jun Zhang: Head, Greater China Transaction Desk, Ernst & Young; Formerly Head of Greater China Team, London & Partners; also worked at Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China.
Facilitator – Carrie Waley: Chairman of Cathay Association for International Business; Founder and CEO of Mandarin Consulting. Also, a member of the Guild of Entrepreneurs.
